Welcome Winter
Cold. Frigid. Chilly. Arctic.
Whatever word you like to use to describe the freezing temperatures Flagstaff dips to during the winter, they all signal “sweater weather.” And for those who love winter sports, those are welcome words.
At Pine Canyon, we especially love sub-freezing temperatures because they keep our winter activities primed for everyone’s enjoyment. The same cool air that dusts our golf course’s greens with icy snowflakes and freezes Trout Creek into a sheet of ice keeps our ice skating rink and sledding hill in tip-top shape. When Mother Nature’s snow machine cooperates, our 18th fairway is a must-sled. Whether you fly down on a tube or a saucer, you can cruise down the hill at a good clip. The hardest part, as it always is with sledding, is getting back up the hill.
If you’re looking to pass a puck or practice your double-axel, Pine Canyon’s ice skating rink is the perfect spot. It is open to all levels of skaters, from those who are lacing up for the first time to those who have been skating for years. And when you get cold, heaters and hot cocoa are within reach. Seating is also available for those who want to watch all the action.
To ensure that all amenities are available, it’s best to contact the concierge before heading out to the rink or sledding down the hill. Before you round up your mittens and hats, call 928-779-5800 or email [email protected] to check on availability.
