Summer Nights in Flagstaff

On October 24th, 2001, Flagstaff made history, becoming the first International Dark Sky City. A community that shows a commitment to preserve the night sky elements; it utilizes an outdoor lighting ordinance and continuously provides ongoing dark sky education. A twilight bike ride or a leisurely stroll on one of the many trailheads are some of the excellent ways to explore nature’s beauty up North.

Activities are endless in Northern Arizona; go on an overnight camping retreat or play a round of golf in perfect weather conditions. As one of the six Dark Sky Communities in Arizona, Flagstaff advocates for responsible outside lighting and sets examples for its surrounding communities. Summertime in Flagstaff will never disappoint with captivating activities for all.

A night spent with your family and friends under the stars occurs annually at the Pine Canyon Camp Out. Over the weekend, members enjoyed a fun-filled evening, pitching tents and socializing at Trout Creek Park. A local DJ and activities including cornhole, capture the flag, and fishing made Camp Out a pleasant night to remember.
