Snow Activities at Pine Canyon
A few weeks ago, we detailed some of the skiing and snowshoeing options available at Arizona Snowbowl and Arizona Nordic Village. Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the snow activities available right here in the Pine Canyon community!
Ice skating. From now through March, the Camp Pine Canyon Ice Skating Rink is open to practice those figure 8s and salchows or to sharpen your puck-handling skills. Ask the Camp Pine Canyon staff about our ice skating and hockey lessons, too! Monday through Thursday, we have an attendant available upon request, and Puck Time is by reservation, 7 days in advance. The regularly scheduled hours for open skating (weather permitting) are:
- Friday: 2pm–7pm
- Saturday: 10am–7pm
- Sunday: 10am–4pm
Sledding. Flagstaff has already seen nearly 2 feet of snow this winter, well above our usual pace. If you’re looking for some fantastic sledding action, just head to the 18th tee of Pine Canyon’s golf course. The same steep drop and beautiful views of the San Francisco Peaks that make this an epic finishing hole create a sublime ride on your toboggan, saucer sled, or inner tube.
Pine Canyon Winter Adventure. Mark your calendar for December 21, when the Camp Pine Canyon Ice Skating Rink hosts our annual Winter Adventure, 11 am-1 pm. Get ready to hit the slopes with a snowboard wax from Ski Haus, or join the action on the snowball battlefield. Arizona Snowbowl representatives will be on hand to talk about season passes – and they’ll be bringing Ava the Snowbowl Avalanche Dog for photos. When you’re ready to warm up, head inside for yummy treats from Village Baker and a Lululemon trunk show.
