Pine Canyon Club Names 30-Year Culinary Veteran as New Executive Chef
Flagstaff, Ariz. (July 6, 2015)- Pine Canyon Club has named Bob Bennett as the new executive chef. The club is located in Pine Canyon, a luxury golf community located in the heart of Flagstaff.
Bennett is a 30 year veteran of the of the culinary industry with experience ranging from high volume private country clubs to owning one of Minnesota’s most celebrated restaurants.
Bennett began his career in Vail, Colorado where he served as chef de cuisine at The Lodge at Vail. He continued his culinary career serving as executive chef at The Palm Valley Country Club, a high volume restaurant serving both members and public guests, and at Crescent Hotel, a 370-room executive hotel with 27,000 square feet of meeting and banquet facilities. Most recently, Bennett served as executive chef at Arrowhead Country Club in Rapid City, South Dakota where he was responsible for all kitchen operations and a 22 member staff.
But perhaps Bennett’s most shining accomplishment is his ownership of Bennett’s On The Lake, a full-service restaurant. Bennett’s On The Lake was selected as one of the best restaurants in Minnesota by Food & Wine magazine, and was well known for its creative cuisine. After more than 15 years of ownership in Duluth, Bennett’s tenure and reputation preceded him and led to his role as executive chef at the newly constructed Sheraton Hotel. There, Bennett established the hotel’s signature restaurant bearing his name- Restaurant 301 by Bob Bennett.
Bennett will join Pine Canyon Club in late July and will resume his culinary talent as executive chef, overseeing five food and beverage outlets, as well as premier private club events.
