Pine Canyon to Host 2015 Junior America’s Cup
Flagstaff, Ariz. (July 15, 2015)-‐-‐ From July 26th to 30th, Pine Canyon, a luxury golf community located in the heart of Flagstaff, will be hosting the 43rd Annual Junior America’s Cup. The event will consist of some of the best junior golfers in the Western United States.
The prestigious junior boys’ golf championship will be conducted by the Junior Golf Association of Arizona and held on Pine Canyon’s championship 18-‐hole course, designed by renowned course architect Jay Morrish.
Maxed out, the challenging course plays at 7,233 yards and 7,000 plus foot elevation.
“We are so pleased to have the opportunity to host the Junior America’s Cup,” said Pine Canyon Director of Golf Travis Laudner. “Pine Canyon is a family oriented community and we believe in fostering the skills of our youth. Opening up our course and accommodating such highly skilled young golfers is just one way that we can give back to future generations.”
JGAA and will be bringing 18 junior golf teams, with four players each ages 13-‐17. Players are from all across the west coast including Hawaii, Mexico and two teams from Canada: Alberta and British Columbia. Winners of the three day-‐long event will be based on the lowest three gross scores of the four team members. Players also will be competing for the Sally Pini award, which recognizes the individual medalist honors. Notable Junior America’s Cup Alumni include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples, Billy Mayfair, Peter Jacobsen, Ricky Barnes and Charley Hoffman.

About the Junior Golf Association of Arizona
Founded in 1983, the Junior Golf Association of Arizona (JGAA) is a non-‐ profit organization that introduces Arizona’s youth to the game of golf and helps junior golfers develop golf and life skills through competitive programs and tournaments. In addition to developing programs at schools and assisting Arizona golf courses with their junior programs, the JGAA conducts more than 100 programs and activities, including etiquette clinics, tournaments, and college prep seminars throughout Arizona each year. The JGAA awards two scholarship funds annually to high school senior members of the JGAA for their college education – the Tres Arnold and the John Wolfinger Memorial College Scholarships.
