Pine Canyon Gives Back to the Community
It is no secret that Pine Canyon believes in delivering opportunities for inspired experiences for our members and owners. And, thanks to a partnership with the Boys and Girls Club and the Flagstaff Police Department, those opportunities will extend beyond our property line and infiltrate the community around us.
The connection boils down to a healthy stock of new basketballs, each one emblazoned with a Flagstaff Police Department shield and the Pine Canyon Cares logo.
As described in a recent story published by the Arizona Daily Sun, the balls will be used by Flagstaff officers who may find time for a quick pick-up game while on patrol. And, they’ll be used at Flagstaff’s first Dream Court, which will be located at the Boys and Girls Club on the west side of town.
The court is open to local youth, and officers are invited to drop by for a game or to simply shoot a few hoops. The balls will also travel with officers in case they have downtime while on patrol in any part of town, making it easier for them to engage with local youth in a positive way on a moment’s notice. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Dream Court is expected in late April. And we love knowing that Pine Canyon played a role in what could be a transformational game for any number of Flagstaff’s youth.
Pine Canyon Cares, the philanthropic initiative within the community supported by members and residents, raises money for and contributes time to local programs on behalf of the Pine Canyon community. Previous beneficiaries include veterans causes, domestic violence programs, and a local animal shelter.
