Pine Canyon Cares teams up with Paw Placement

Part of what makes living at Pine Canyon so rewarding is the philanthropic spirit that thrives within our community. Pine Canyon residents truly love to give. That’s why Pine Canyon Cares, a charitable community group, was formed.

And, while philanthropy really knows no season, at Pine Canyon we always go big as part of our Fourth of July festivities. This year will be no different. Pine Canyon Cares has designated Paw Placement of Northern Arizona as its fundraising beneficiary as part of our annual Concert in the Park, which collected more than $8,600 for veterans causes last year.

Paw Placement of Northern Arizona, serving Flagstaff and Coconino County, is a no-kill shelter that has placed more than 800 dogs and cats in loving homes since late 2006. Its dedicated volunteers and directors are raising money to upgrade their facilities and capabilities in an effort to meet the modern needs of today’s animals and animal lovers. The organization has already done so much with what they have, including establishing a resource and information center through the Findlay Toyota Pet Resource Line at 928-300-4510. Paw Placement also offers vouchers to owners for low-cost and no-cost spay and neuter services offer financial assistance for emergency veterinary care and manages a pet safety net program for short-term boarding when owners are hospitalized.

Paw Placement of Northern Arizona aims to prevent animal euthanasia due to time, space or treatable conditions. And Pine Canyon Cares plans to help.

Our fundraising festivities will include a dog parade with judged entries, a dog fashion show, a photo booth, a host of canine-geared vendors, and rescues and animal adoptions. Those who attend will also have an opportunity to purchase engraved dog tags to memorialize a special dog or cat.
