Pass Golf’s Torch At Pine Canyon
The game of golf has seen a bit of a downturn in recent years. Fewer people were playing, and equipment sales were declining, according to industry reports.
But, as soon as we were all told to keep our distance from each other, golf experienced a revival. The number of rounds played climbed and equipment sales increased. And, at Pine Canyon, a private golf community with its own championship course, we couldn’t be happier about it.
In fact, during recent months, we added a number of new members to our club.
Golf icon Ben Hogan once said, “The most important shot in golf is the next one,” and we couldn’t agree more. Except, we think the “next one” is down the road, the legacy of a game that can be passed down through generations. As a family-friendly community, we consider it a privilege at Pine Canyon to offer opportunities for the next generation of golfers to build their own relationship with a game that keeps us coming back.
It’s why we offer a variety of memberships, why we organize different types of tournaments and activities, and why we offer multiple ways to get around our golf course. Yes, Phat Scooters are cool and fun, and often catch the eyes of a younger, more adventurous golfer.
It’s also not lost on us that golf at Pine Canyon offers space for quiet moments to take hold, out on a course where a WiFi connection isn’t the biggest concern, where social media isn’t a priority and where patience, grit, and concentration are practiced and honed for youths learning to appreciate the benefits and complexities of the game.
Surrounded by dense, towering pine trees, with incredible views of the San Francisco Peaks, the Pine Canyon golf course is an experience in and of itself as it follows elevation changes and challenges players to navigate around water.
But it’s the moments it offers, between two generations of golfers, that truly elevates the experience.
