Our Feline Friend Chet
Nestled into the world’s largest Ponderosa Pine Forest, Pine Canyon residents see their fair share of wildlife. From herds of elk, a family of osprey, and your occasional scurry of squirrels, Flagstaff offers a wide variety of native creatures. However, there is one furry friend around Pine Canyon that stands out from the rest.
Her name is Chet.
Roaming the grounds of Pine Canyon for at least half a decade, this friendly feline exterminates rodents and insects from the outskirts of the club. As a thank you for her bravery, Chet starts every morning with a generous bowl of kibble to fuel her day-to-day ventures and occasionally is gifted a bowl of steamed milk on snowy afternoons.
Off the clock, Chet spends her time basking in morning sunbeams around the clubhouse patios or chasing down her favorite birds around Camp Pine Canyon. Adored by membership and staff, Chet has slowly but surely come out of her shell and lets a few familiar faces stop by for some pets.
So, during your next visit to Pine Canyon make sure to keep your eye out for our feline friend Chet. And don’t be shy to send her a meow, as she almost always meows back.
