Ghost Tree Construction Update #2: Walls Up, Home Taking Shape
Framing is underway at Pine Canyon’s Ghost Tree neighborhood. See how the walls are going up and this modern mountain home is taking shape in our latest construction update.
We’re back with the next update in our Ghost Tree construction series, and things are really starting to take shape — quite literally.
With the slab poured and fully cured, the framing crew wasted no time getting started. This is always one of the most exciting phases to watch. For weeks, you’re staring at a flat concrete pad, and then, almost overnight, you start to see walls, rooms, and the basic form of the home coming to life.
Seeing the Structure Take Shape
Framing is where a lot of the planning and prep work finally turns into something you can see. The outline on paper — and in concrete — now rises into vertical form. Exterior walls go up first, followed by interior walls, giving you a first real sense of scale, ceiling height, and flow from room to room.
Those piles of lumber you may have seen delivered to the site? They’re carefully measured and cut to form each section of the home. Studs, headers, beams — all coming together with the precision of a well-rehearsed team.
That First Walk-Through Moment
One of the most rewarding parts of framing is when you can finally walk the layout for the first time. You can stand in what will soon be the kitchen, peek out the future living room windows, and get that first true sense of how the home will live. At Ghost Tree, that means starting to catch glimpses of the San Francisco Peaks, the pines swaying, and hole 14 coming into view from the property — the very features that make these homes so special.
Next Up
With framing well underway, the crew will continue building out the full structure, including roof trusses, sheathing, and eventually moving into mechanicals, plumbing, and electrical work. From here forward, every update starts to feel a little more like a home.
