Celebrating Winter At Pine Canyon
Snow has magical qualities wherever it falls, but it seems to have a mystical allure in a desert state like Arizona. It’s so rare, and sometimes fleeting, even at higher elevations. We’ve already had a dusting this season, and the skiers and sledders inside us desperately hope for more.
Since January is our snowiest month, historically speaking, we felt like celebrating the fluffy white stuff. So, we’re hosting a “Snow Day” on January 27th, Pine Canyon style.
The 18th tee is everyone’s favorite spot to go tubing and sledding, so that’s where we’ll be, with or without snow. With a $2.4 million custom home as our host, we will have hot cocoa, cookies available, and a sweet sledding run open if mother nature cooperates.
If not, there will still be plenty to do. Our new ice skating rink will be up and ready to use, and coaches from the Flagstaff Figure Skating Club will be on site to offer skating tips. We will also welcome local vendors to celebrate our love of snow and winter sports. Ski Haus will be here offering a waxing station, folks from Arizona Snowbowl will visit, and MotherRoad Brewery will have local suds for tasting. And for those with a sweet tooth, Momma Kneads Dough cinnamon rolls will be here to answer your craving.
The two-hour event, running from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., will also give those who attend a peek at the stunning home that overlooks the 18th hole, and includes panoramic views of the San Francisco Peaks. The 6,429 square-foot home includes four bedrooms, a trio of fireplaces and a mix of wood and stone that makes for a cozy and regal mountain retreat.
So, mark your calendar for January 27th. And have your snow gear ready. We’ll bring the cocoa.
