A Mountain Winter
Winter is different, depending on the elevation. While desert winters are mild and winters along the California coast are predictable, mountain winters offer a welcome postcard of the season — ushering in beautiful, snow-covered peaks and evenings so cold they require time spent cozying up to a fireplace.
Yes, the coolest season of the year is markedly cooler the higher one climbs. At Pine Canyon, situated in Arizona’s mountain town of Flagstaff, we would know.
Mountain living has its benefits during the sweltering summer months, for sure, offering a respite from heat and humidity. But it also provides a needed refuge during the winter months, allowing owners to escape to a winter wonderland that delivers on everything one would hope to experience this time of year.
Winter sports, such as skiing, sledding, and ice skating, are available the entire season within the Pine Canyon community or near it. Brisk hikes through snow-covered trails are available all season, while warm nights spent recharging in sweatpants at home are always an option, too.
Mountain living just has a different feel. And it almost has a different speed, too, one that aligns with a community that is designed as a refuge. The architecture at Pine Canyon is unique to the landscape, creating space for indoor-outdoor living. The luxury amenities at Pine Canyon serve the interests of an exclusive mountain community.
And the energy at Pine Canyon, infused with an ever-present sense of hospitality and a commitment to balance, is infectious.
Mountain living at Pine Canyon feels different because it’s supposed to.
