4th of July at Pine Canyon

The Fourth of July perpetually manages to bring family, friends and the freedom of summer to the forefront of our minds. Be it the crackling of a campfire, the aroma of toasted marshmallows, or the sound of fireworks fluttering across the night sky, there’s something magical about the holiday that warms our hearts. At Pine Canyon, we’ve planned a fun-filled week to ignite everyone’s holiday spirit as we celebrate this iconic American pastime.

In preparation for the holiday festivities, we will host a float building seminar at Camp Pine Canyon on Wednesday, July 3, at 2 p.m., allowing our residents to tap into their inner Independence Day pride and create something truly special for our annual Fourth of July Parade.

We’re kicking off Independence Day early with an indulgent breakfast and lunch offered between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Make sure to leave an open time slot for the Fourth of July parade, beginning promptly at 8:45 a.m. at the Camp Pine Canyon Clubhouse Circle. Lululemon will also be joining in on the fun with a pop-up shop open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The day’s activities all lead up to our highly anticipated Independence Day party, beginning at 4 p.m. The celebration will include face painting, a dunk tank, jump houses, and a delectable meal, complete with a salad bar, multiple main course options and a variety of sweet and savory desserts. And, all will be able to get their groove on and dance the night away to live music by Affinity.

To RSVP for the Independence Day party, please call the concierge at 928-779-5800 or email [email protected].

Even though the Fourth of July is just one day, the holiday festivities here at Pine Canyon will still be going strong long after the last of the fireworks fade. We’re keeping the fun going at our annual Camp Pine Canyon dodgeball tournament on Friday, July 5 at 10 a.m. All ages are welcome to participate, so grab your family and friends and get ready for some fierce but friendly competition. Teams of 6-8 players are required and uniforms are recommended. The cost to play is $50 per team. To RSVP, please call the camp at 928-226-2866 or email [email protected].

If dodgeball isn’t your sport, don’t fret, because we have something for everyone. Participate in the “Sips & Swing, Red White & Brews” event or stop by the Lululemon pop-up shop to continue your well-deserved holiday shopping spree.

Running around all day can stir up an appetite, so don’t forget to RSVP at the clubhouse for our southwestern buffet, starting at 5 p.m. We’re featuring traditional tastes of the southwest with entrees such as crab-chili-mango-cheese quesadillas, grilled baja mahi, roasted chicken enchilada casserole and more. The buffet is priced at $50 for adults and $15 for children ages 4-12. Children younger than 5 are free.

To end the week on a high note, we invite all to join us for a concert in the park on Saturday, July 6, from 5-8 p.m. Singer-songwriter Lee Perreira will perform with Jules Gaston to combine classic blue riffs with soulfully textured vocals. During the event, enjoy delicious food from Fat Olives: Wood Fired Pizzeria and Italian Kitchen and the Whip It Good dessert truck. The SORSO Wine Wagon will also be available with a wide selection of tasteful libations to quench your thirst.
